Today’s Faithful Friday is inspired by something going on in my own life. I am training for my first ever half marathon. The biggest race I have ever completed was the 10k Bridge Run I participated in last year. I had made up my mind that no matter what, I was going to race and complete it in memory of my mom who had just died, and for my dad who died in 2003. I didn’t train at all for that one and I was able to complete it.
Now, the race is April 17th in Disney World and while my training has not gone as well as I had anticipated, I am every day repeating incantations to myself that I will complete this upcoming race. No matter what I have to do, I refuse to let my mind believe that it is ok for the balloon ladies (that’s what they are called in Disney races) to come up beside me and sweep me off the course. I don’t want a medal just for participating. I want a medal for earning it. I am not giving my brain any other option than to succeed.
What are some things that you might need to convince your mind of? What is holding you back from your dreams?
